What If You Could Make a Difference?

In order to affect change throughout the world, change must first begin in the mind of the individual.

But change doesn’t happen on its own. It takes dedication and perseverance. It takes courage. It takes a willingness to make tough choices, to challenge the status quo and dare to be different.

Change only happens when people are empowered to think critically. They must engage with new ideas to act responsibly and lead courageously.

What if you could be that change? What if you could help break down barriers and build a more peaceful, unified society?

“ Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

– Nelson Mandela

It’s time for a Brighter Future

Conversation Builds Character is an educational initiative aimed at encouraging individuals to embrace their role in creating a better future by learning from history, the present and one another.

Using the Holocaust* and other genocides as a lens from which to explore the behavioral and societal conditions that lead to such atrocities, this initiative seeks to expose and confront the human dynamics that lead to hatred and intolerance toward those who are viewed as different from us.

Through education, reflection and conversation, we wish to challenge individuals to examine their thoughts, speech, actions and non-actions in light of historical examples of grave atrocities, so that they might better understand the consequences of their decisions.

We invest in community programs that examine the events of this cruel and deadly history in order to help individuals understand the consequences of human behaviors – both in the past and the present day. Some of the societal and behavioral dynamics that led to the Holocaust and similar atrocities still exist today. It is crucial for people to learn from history in order to confront intolerance and end division in our society.

Through education, reflection and conversation, we work to inspire people to think critically, act responsibly and lead courageously.

*The Holocaust was the systematic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of six million European Jews by the Nazi German regime and its allies and collaborators. German authorities also targeted and killed other groups, including people with disabilities, homosexuals, repeat criminal offenders and nomadic peoples such as the Romani.
